Srinagar, August 12 (Scoop News)-N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, deeply disturbed and pained by the happenings in the last three days, has appealed to the people comprising all the communities in the State to maintain communal harmony and peace.
In a statement issued here today, the Governor has also appealed to the leaders of all the political, religious and social groups and members of the civil society to urgently join hands to reinvigorate inter-community bonds and strengthen societal harmony.
The Governor, who has been closely monitoring the situation which evolved after the 9th August 2013 incidents in Kishtwar, has been kept briefed by Chief Minister in the past three days.
Vikar constitutes peace forums, appeals for maintaining communal harmony
Minister of State for Information Technology, Power and Information has appealed the people to maintain peace and communal harmony so that the forces trying to disrupt the peaceful environs for their petty interests are defeated.
The Minister was addressing a large gathering of people, prominent citizens, social activists from Pogal Paristan, Maligam, Ukhral, Almbas, Kochak, Nagare, Tolshal, Ramsoo and Magarkote of the Ramban district at Ukhral here today.
Vikar said that the people of the State have always believed in mutual brotherhood and co-existence throughout the ages. He further appealed them to maintain peace so that the ulterior motives of the vested interests trying to create an environment of hatred and destruction are defeated.
The Minister said that the government has already passed instructions to deal with the miscreants trying to formant trouble and people should also come forward and contribute their bit in ensuring that the peace is sustained.
Vikar also constituted peace forums and appealed them to ensure that they should work collectively in a synergized manner for ensuring communal harmony and sustaining peace.
