Srinagar, January 17, (Scoop News)-J&K Governor, N.N. Vohra interacted with the stakeholders of tourism, traders, handloom and transport sectors besides houseboat owners and members of Civil Society here today.
Directing speedy response to the grievances of members of Civil Society and other associations, the Governor asked Vice Chairman LAWDA and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation for immediately streamlining the issuance of building permissions for the reconstruction of houses and hotels to the flood affected persons under a single window system. He also asked for the labour rates to be fixed and publicized.
The Governor also directed for prescribing the quality and standard for pesticides which are used by orchardists after consultation with Vice Chancellor SKUAST and officers of Horticulture Department.
Regarding the demands for the revival of tourism industry in the State, Vohra directed Secretary Tourism to organize publicity campaigns throughout the country to attract a large number of tourists to visit the State.
Responding to the conduct of school examinations, the meeting was informed that the exams had been only postponed and shall be conducted at the due time. The Governor also stressed for the timely redressal of public grievances and said that he had asked Chief Secretary to set up the Winter Secretariat at Srinagar also.
It was also given out in the meeting that exemption of VAT returns, Entry Tax and Stamp Duty have already been notified.
