Speaking at the “Sadbhavana Day Pledge” ceremony held at Raj Bhavan lawns here today, the Governor while referring to the obtaining situation in the Kashmir Valley for the past more than two months, said that this has resulted in the loss of precious human lives and most adversely affected the functioning of educational institutions, hospitals, government offices, delivery of public utility services, trade, commerce and business activity and other sectors of economy. He observed that peace and normalcy must be restored most immediately so that the State can march ahead on the path of progress and prosperity.
The Governor, while explaining the spirit behind the “Sadbhavana Pledge”, said that, in this context, the pledge has high importance for us as it provides an opportunity to once again rededicate ourselves for the promotion of national integration, emotional oneness and communal harmony among the people.
The Principal Secretary to the Governor, R. K. Goyal administered the “Sadbhavana Pledge” to the near one hundred civil employees and security staff of the Raj Bhavan at the pledge ceremony held in connection with the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, being observed as ‘Sadbhavana Divas”.
