Srinagar, May 16 (Scoop News) – J&K Governor N. N. Vohra, Chief Minster Omar Abdulla and ministers Nawang Rigzin Jora, Qamar Ali Akhoon have greeted people on the eve of Buddha Purnima
The Governor, . N. N. Vohra, has greeted the people on Buddha Purnima, sincerely hoping that the auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor described Lord Buddha as an apostle of peace whose message of ahimsa and non-violence assumes much greater relevance today when the world is faced with growing intolerance, violence and terrorism.
The Governor prayed for brotherhood, amity, harmony and peace in the State.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has also felicitated people in general and Buddhist in particular on the eve of Buddha Purnima wishing them well being and prosperity.
The Chief Minister highlighted the love, peace and brotherhood preached by Lord Buddha and underlined the need for strengthening the secular fabric and pluralistic culture of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the traditional amity between different cultures and faiths signify the rich characteristics and heritage of the State.
In a greetings message issued here today, Omar Abdullah prayed for peace and progress in the State.
Minister for Tourism and Culture, . Nawang Rigzin Jora has greeted people of the State particularly Buddha community on the eve of Budh Purnima.
Felicitating the people on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the love, peace and brotherhood preached by Lord Buddha. He underscored the need for strengthening the secular fabric and pluralistic culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
. Jora said teachings of Lord Buddha are vital for eradicating social evils from the society. He urged to follow the teachings of lord Budha for bringing peace and tranquility in the State. He prayed for peace and prosperity of the State.
Minister for CA&PD and Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon has also felicitated people of the state particularly of Ladakh region on the eve of Budh Purnima.
In his message, the Minister said teachings of Lord Buddha are vital for eradicating social evils from the society. He said His massage of non-violence, peace, amity and brotherhood is immensely significant in the present materialistic world where mankind is desperately seeking divine mental solace. He urged to follow the teachings of the lord for bringing peace and tranquility in the state.
