JK Governor, CM, others greet people on the occasion of Deepawali

 

 

Srinagar/ Jammu, October 25 (Scoop News)-  J&K Governor N. N. Vohra, Chief Minster Omar Abdulla and other leaders  have greeted people on the eve of Dewali, the festival of lights . 

 

N. N. Vohra, Governor, has extended warm greetings to the people on Diwali and sincerely hoped that this festival of lights would be a harbinger of sustained peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

In his message of felicitations, the Governor said that Diwali symbolizes the triumph of truth and righteousness over falsehood and of good over evil, highlighting the high values and ethos of our great civilization. 

The Governor hoped that the festival would further strengthen communal harmony, brotherhood, amity and secularism, which are the hallmarks of our glorious composite cultural traditions. On this occasion, he prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.

 

 

Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has felicitated people on Diwali wishing them happiness and well-being.

In a greetings message issued here on the eve of Diwali, the Chief Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir possesses rich tradition of celebrating festivals and holy occasions in amity, brotherhood and togetherness. He emphasized the need for maintaining and further strengthening this cultural heritage and characteristics of the State.

            Omar said that while celebrating occasions of happiness every one of us should remember the poor and needy and share the joy with them. “This adds pleasure and happiness to the celebrations of such occasions”, he said and wished Diwali to be harbinger of peace, progress and development of the State and the Country.

 

 

Deputy Chief Minister  Tara Chand has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and hoped that the festival brings joy and prosperity for all .

In a message of felicitation, the Deputy Chief Minister said the festival of lights symbolizes triumph of truth and righteousness. The joy of festival is shared by people of diverse faiths, thus strengthening bonds of love and brotherhood in the society, he added.

Tara Chand on the occasion prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

 

 

Former Chief Minister and patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti have greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali-the festival of lights.

In a message, PDP  leaders extended  their warm greetings and good wishes to the people on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Deepawali.

 PDP leaders said Deepawali symbolised the elimination of all negative forces that impede our progress and development. May the glow of Diwali fill the lives of our people with happiness and prosperity, they stated.

Greeting people on the this auspicious occasion, PDP leaders further said Diwali symbolises the triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness, of truth over untruth. “May the noble ideals of the festival prevail and usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in lives of people of Jammu and Kashmir,” they stated.

 

 

The MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami has extended warm Diwali greetings to the people of the state particularly Hindu brethren.

In his felicitation message, the senior legislator observed that Deewali symbolizes victory of truth and piety over falsehood and wickedness.

            Tarigami hoped that the festival will herald a new era of peace, progress and prosperity in the state, while wishing all happiness, fulfillment and good times ahead to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. 

 

 

Chairman, Legislative Council  Amrit Malhotra, has facilitated people of the State on Diwali wishing them well being and prosperity.

While facilitating the people on the occasion, the Chairman appealed them to create a society free from all evils adding that justice and equality 

is a right virtue which needs to be followed in right  perspective.

He also prayed for the peace and progress of the State hoping that this Diwali shall bring peace, progress and prosperity for state.
