The Governor said that today we have varied mediums of communication, not only the books but entire spectrum of technology, like Cell phones, Telephone, Wireless, E-mails, Aero-planes etc but 200 years ago & more there was no such technology ,the travel was on foot, horse back, elephant back and these heritage cultural routes had contributed a lot in the transference of knowledge, Trade and pilgrimage. Minister of State for Home, Housing and Urban Development Nasir Aslam wani his address said that our country is rich in cultural heritage and many heritage places has been put on global the map. Mr. Wani said that to develop and preserve these heritage routes in the state of Jammu of Kashmir is the priority of our State Govt. While lauding the efforts of the University of Jammu, especially Centre for Studies in Museology for the organizing this conference Mr. Wani said that this conference will really act as a booster in promotion of the heritage tourism of state as well as in the country.

Prof. Poomam Choudhary, said that main objective of this international conference is to bring together the conclusions of the global strategic study striving to improve the recognition within Heritage "of the economic, social, symbolic, philosophical dimensions, constant and countless interactions with the natural environment in all its diversity and to Promote tourism (eco- tourism, cultural tourism, pilgrim tourism) in the state which will influence the socio-economic condition of the people living along these routes.
