Jammu,September 29 (Vijay Kumar) – Jammu and Kashmir Governor, N. N. Vohra, has lauded the exemplary courage and bravery of the fearless young girl from a family of Upper Kalsi, Shahdara Sharief, Rajouri district, who, with her sibling’s help, overpowered one of the terrorists, snatched his weapon and, without ever having handled a gun, shot him dead, whereupon the other terrorists ran away.
The Governor has asked for a formal report from the DGP so that, based thereon, he would recommend the young girl for being given a gallantry award. The Governor also intends to invite this brave girl to honour her at the Raj Bhavan.

According to Police unknown militants fired upon CRPF personals of 179 Bn near Bus Stand, Sopore resulting in injuries to 3 CRPF jawans and two civilians including a lady today afternoon. Later on the three CRPF jawans succumbed to their injuries. The two civilians injured have been shifted to the hospital.
