JK Governor, Ministers visits Mata Khir Bhawani Shrine

           Ganderbal/Srinagar, June 09  (Scoop News) –     The Governor,  N. N. Vohra, visited Mata Khir Bhawani Shrine at Tulmulla in Ganderbal district today, on the occasion of Khir Bhawani Mela.

The Governor and the First Lady, Mrs. Usha Vohra, paid obeisance at the Sanctum Sanctorum and prayed for peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in the State.

The Governor interacted with the devotees and greeted them on this auspicious occasion, describing the Mela as a shining example of communal harmony and brotherhood for which Jammu and Kashmir has been known for centuries past.

The Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust,  Shashi Khajuria, informed the Governor that a proposal for the construction of two halls for the visiting devotees is being finalized in consultation with the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal and that the proposed accommodation would require financial support. The Governor asked his Principal Secretary, who is also the CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, to explore the possibility of extending support for the creation of additional infrastructure within the Temple Complex. The Governor complimented the District Civil and Police Administration for the strong support provided for the celebration of this Mela. He also noted the useful role being played by various social and other non-governmental organizations to facilitate the arrangements. 

Earlier, on arrival at Khir Bhawani, the Governor and the Lady Governor were received by  Showkat Mir, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal,  Imtiaz Ahmad, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal, and various other District level officers. 

The Principal Secretary to the Governor,  R. K. Goyal was present on the occasion.

Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation,  Raman Bhalla today visited Tulmulla Ganderbal and paid obeisance at the Shrine of Mata Kheerbhawani.

            The Minister went around the Shrine all along with other devotees. He interacted with pilgrims, especially those Kashmiri migrant pundits who have come from Jammu for the first time.

            The Minister urged them to visit other tourist resorts of the valley. He said Kashmiri is known for maintaining Peace, brotherhood and Communal harmony for times ago.

            Later, the minister had a joint meeting of representatives of Kashmiri Migrants and local administration and discussed at length the arrangements made by the government for smooth conduct of the mela. He expressed  his satisfaction over the greater participation of Kashmiri Pandits in the mela.

            The Minister also inspected various stalls laid by different government departments to facilitate the devotees. 

            Earlier, the Minister met various deputations which include two deputations of those employees who have been appointed under Prime Minister’s Package and posted at Tulmulla-Ganderbal and Vasoo-Qazigund.

            The Minister heard them patiently and directed concerned authorities to address their problems on priority basis.

Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs  Ab. Rahim Rather and Minister of State for Cooperatives, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today paid obeisance at Mata Khir Bhawani Temple at Tullmulla Ganderbal. They prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

            The Ministers while interacting with the devotees appealed them to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood as our State is Known for this hallmark of unity among all sections of the society.
