Jammu/Srinagar, November 02(Scoop News)- J&K Governor,N. N. Vohra,CM, Omar Abdullah,Dy CM, Tara Chand, , legislators and the leaders of PDP, NPP,Congress and others have greeted people on the eve of Diwali, the festival of lights.
N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, has extended warm greetings to the people on Diwali, the festival of lights, and hoped that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that this festival symbolizes the triumph of truth and righteousness over falsehood and of good over evil, highlighting the high values and ethos of the country’s civilizational history.
The Governor hoped that the festival would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity, tranquility and secularism, which are the hallmarks of our glorious composite cultural traditions. On this occasion, he prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has greeted the people on Diwali wishing them happiness and well being.
In his Diwali message, the Chief Minister highlighted the tradition of celebrating holy occasions and festivals in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood. He emphasised on strengthening this trait of Jammu and Kashmir State.
The Chief Minister also prayed for peace, prosperity and development of the State and the country
Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has greeted the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.
In his messages, he hoped that this auspicious occasion would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood and usher the state into a period of sustained peace, progress and prosperity.
He also prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra and Deputy Chairman, Chaudhry Javeed Rana have greeted people of the State, particularly Hindu brethren on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
In a message Amrit Malhotra said that all festivals have their own importance. He said Diwali is the festival of lights and asked people to illuminate the society with lights of love, brotherhood, peace and prosperity.
“Diwali is the first day of the Hindu New Year” Malhotra said and prayed that this festival may prove harbinger of peace and prosperity in the State.
Mr Javed Rana in his message said that “Diwali is the festival of lights and colours and the glow of the earthen diyas spreads the light of harmony, equality and brotherhood. He said Diwali is a blessed time and wished that the festival may bring all round prosperity in our State.
The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul has greeted the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.
In his felicitation message, Gul prayed for peace, progress and prosperous of the people of the State.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Sartaj Madni also extended greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, saying that the festival would herald a new era of peace and prosperity in the State.
The Council of Ministers have extended their warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.
In their separate felicitation messages, they extended their greetings saying that the festival would be harbinger of peace, prosperity and happiness for the people of the Country especially for J&K State. They hoped that the festival will further cement the bonds of love, amity, brotherhood and communal harmony which are the hallmark of state’s composite culture and pluralistic ethos.

Legislators M.Y. Tarigami and Hakeem Mohammad Yasin have also felicitated people of the state on the auspicious day of Diwali.
Advisor to Chief Minister, Qamar Ali Akhoon today extended the greetings on the auspicious occasion of Diwali to the people of the state.
In his felicitation message, the Advisor hoped that the festival would be harbingers of peace, prosperity and wellbeing for the people of the State.
Patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president of PDP Mehbooba Mufti have greeted people on the occasion of Deepawali. In their message, PDP leaders extended their warm greetings and good wishes to the people on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Deepawali – the festival of lights.
PDP leaders said Diwali symbolises the elimination of all negative forces that impede our progress. May the glow of Diwali fill the lives of our people with happiness and prosperity. Greeting people on the this auspicious occasion, PDP leaders further said Deepawali symbolises the triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness, of truth over untruth. “May the noble ideals of the festival prevail and usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives,” they stated.
In a message, on the eve of the Diwali, to the countrymen particularly the youth and the students, Prof. Bhim Singh Founder and Chief Patron of National Panthers Party has expressed hope that the youth and the students shall pledge today to fight out all evil forces spreading darkness all over the globe so that the light shall prevail over darkness and the humanity shall live in peace, dignity and enjoy freedom and liberty bestowed by God on all human beings irrespective of their religions, regions or nationalities.
