In his greeting message he said,”I send warm greetings to all Muslims around the world particularly Muslims of the Jammu & Kashmir, observing Eid al-Fitr, the Festival of Breaking the Fast and wish all your prayers and fasting in the holy month of Ramadan are heard by Almighty Allah.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a time of prayer, reflection, and fasting. It is the holiest month of the Muslim year. To celebrate this auspicious Day, we Muslims gather and pray in mosques to thank God for His blessings and His help in keeping the fast. Muslims also demonstrate their compassion by reaching out to the less fortunate and giving gifts of money or food to help those in need so that they too are able to celebrate Eid.
On this occasion we should keep in mind the fact that we as a nation are suffering and it becomes imperative for us to make sure that our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters don’t face any problems. We have lost seven lakh people since 1947 for a cause. So people need to bear this fact in the mind before going to celebrate the Eid. My passionate appeal to the entire nation is to act in matured way and observe Eid al-Fitr with simplicity and austerity and help all those who have suffered in on going resistance movement. On this auspicious day, it is the duty of all the Kashmiris to make sure that they help in every possible way the widows and orphans of those martyred for the movement. By doing so we will prove it to the world that Kashmiris are united and they share a common pain.”
