This was stated by the Minister while replying to a question by M. Y. Tarigami in Legislative Assembly here today. He said the District Magistrate, Anantnag has also ordered magisterial inquiry into the firing incident at S. K. Colony, Anchidora, Anantnag on June 29, 2010 resulting in the death of three persons.
The Minister said that the Government has accepted the magisterial inquiry report in this regard and on the basis of the recommendations of the inquiry officer, names of four police personnel have been added in the FIR already lodged in the Police Station, Anantnag. He said pending inquiry, the then SHO has been placed under suspension and disciplinary proceedings against the then SSP, Anantnag are being initiated.

The Minister said 19 FIRs have been registered against security forces and police personnel where allegations of unprovoked firing or use of excessive force were allegedly made. Investigation in these cases is going on, he added.
The Minister said that during the period from January 2010 to ending September, 2010 as many as 94 civilians, who were part of the violent mobs and protests got injured during the engagement between protestors and deployments on ground and succumbed to their injuries in Kashmir valley and added that in addition to action by security forces, 15 persons also lost their lives during law and order problem due to various reasons including stone pelting, drowning, stampede and blast etc. in the valley.
The Minister said that the death of one Inayat Khan S/o Mohammad Amin Khan R/o Malteng, Dalgate took place on January 8, 2010. He said the information regarding complete details of the persons, who were assaulted and succumbed to their injuries since January 2010 till August 2010 due to unrest in Kashmir valley are being collected.
