Jammu, May 20 (Scoop News) – Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, . Raman Bhalla, has said Government is committed to ensure adequate power and drinking water supply and there is no constraint of funds in augmentation of power and drinking water infrastructure in the state.
This was stated by the Minister while assessing the problems of people related to power curtailment and irregular drinking water supply at Channi Himmat Sector-1, Sainik Colony Sector-G, Babliana and Transport Nagar, here today.
Responding to people’s demand, . Bhalla asked the officers to ensure regular power supply in metered areas.
For improving the power scenario in Transport Nagar, Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony and its adjoining areas, he asked the PDD to upgrade 6.3 MVA receiving station of Transport Nagar and Channi Himmat up to 10 MVA within 3 days so that the people do not face any inconvenience during summer season. He asked the locals to use electricity judiciously in peak hours and do not get illegal power connections to save power for themselves.
Regarding upgradation of Babliana receiving Station, he asked the PDD to prepare estimate for upgradation of 6.3 MVA receiving station and submit the same for funding so that the existing station could be upgraded up to 10 MVA. He said on the upgradation of this station, the habitations of Digiana, Jeevan Nagar, Ajeet Nagar, Gangyal could get adequate electricity. He asked the engineers to install poles including wires in the uncovered areas of the Babliana village.
To improve the power scenario in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Rampura and Parts of Nai Basti, the Minister said the work on 10 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Shastri Nagar is under progress on war footing adding that the project costing Rs. 3.26 crore would be completed by August this year. He said that development of receiving station was the long pending demand of the people of this area.
. Bhalla said that Government has taken several historical steps to rejuvenate overall developmental profile of the State. He said sectors like PHE, health, R&B, education, tourism, power among other sectors have received focused attention of the Government adding it was due to its pro-people policy that the masses at present are benefited.
The Minister said peace is pre-requisite for making Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country and people’s cooperation is imperative for the purpose.
