Jammu, January 23 (Scoop News) – Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said that Government is making all out efforts to address all the issues confronting to Kashmiri Pandits’, adding that one of the major demands regarding de-reservation of 800 posts under PMs’ Employment package has been conceded.
This was stated by the Minister while speaking at a function organized by Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) at Suriya Bhawan in Paloura, here today.
Maintaining that the Government is keen for the safe and dignified return of Kashmiri migrants to Valley, Bhalla said the Centre has sanctioned a package of Rs 1618.40 crore in this regard and various steps have been taken for its implementation. He said all the Deputy Commissioners of
Regarding accommodation of KPs migrant employees, Bhalla said that Government has erected prefabricated quarters at Vessu, Mattan, Sheikhpora in Budgam, Hall in Shopian and Baramulla for this purpose. He said more such quarter would be set up adding that require land for the purpose has been identified in various parts of the valley. He said candidates selected in Baramulla and Kupwara district would be given accommodation at Baramulla till quarters are constructed at Kupwara.

Regarding enhancement of relief, the Minister said Government has submitted a proposal to the Central Government in this regard for necessary approval. He said a proposal is under active consideration for providing self-employment loan to unemployed youth so that they can earn their livelihood by establishing their self employment units under Agriculture, Horticulture etc. sectors.
Listing the measures taken by the Government in upgrading the living standard of the Kashmiri Migrants, the Minister said a satellite township of 4218 two-room flats including 40-beded hospital, higher secondary school, middle school, recreational parks, link roads besides two community halls have been constructed about 15-kilometer away from Jammu city for the Kashmiri Migrants at a cost of Rs. 385 crore.

Responding to the demands of the migrants, the Minister informed that Government has already earmarked land for construction of Panch Mandir, Maa Durga temple and Shiv temple in the vicinity of the township for which foundation has been laid by him recently.
