Srinagar,July 18 (Scoop News) –The Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Itoo said the coalition government headed by dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is marching ahead with development agenda with all its power, enthusiasm and efficiency.
Addressing a large public gathering at Kulgam she said Government is fulfilling all basic needs of the public successfully and is providing facilities like drinking water, road connectivity, health care, electricity and education to the people.
This, she said has irked our political opponents who have lost the power of governance and in turn, as a hostile measure, diverting the attention of youth for stone pelting to shatter the developmental tempo of the Government. The Minister appealed the people to constitute Mohalla committees in their respective villages/areas to save our future generation, the youth from doing misdeeds like stone pelting.

Speaking on the occasion Ms Sakina Itoo said that the construction of the road was long pending demand of the people of the area which was full filled by our Government.
Referring to the developmental scenario of Noorabad area Sakina said that much has been done during the last one and half year, adding much more is fixed to be done during coming years. The Minister announced construction of three link roads under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) in the area which include Nandimarg-Dobdaban road, Kutmarg-Masjid Sharief road and Gujjar Basti-Chiranbal road. She said Rs.22 lakhs, 18 lakhs and 19 lakhs respectively are being spent on the execution of these roads, on which the work will be started within 15 days, the Minister urged the officers of Forest and other concerned department to provide helping hand to R&B Department so as to ensure the completion of these link roads within the fixed time span of one year.
The Minister also addressed many deputations at Nandimarg, Yaripora and Damhal who projected their local demands. The Minister on the spot directed DDC Kulgam to ensure speedy supply of food grains in the Noorabad area. She also enquired about the availability of essential commodities and was informed that 4,300 quintals of ration have been provided to the consumers during the first fortnight of the current month.
The Minister also reviewed development scenario of the area and directed concerned Engineers to ensure time bound completion of the works taken in hand for welfare and development of the area.
