J&K Govt revive arrangements with regard to Shivratri festival

Jammu, February 25 (Scoop News) –  Advisor to Chief Minister,  Mubarak Gul today revived arrangements with regard to Maha Shivratri festival commencing from Ist March, 2011, in a high level meeting held here today.

MLC,  Vijay Bakaya, Chief Engineer, Power Development Department, Jammu  Muhammad Qasim, Additional Commissioner, Jammu  D. R. Sharma, Director Agriculture, Jammu,  Ajay Khujaria, Joint Director Fisheries, Jammu,  R. K .Dogra, Deputy Director CA&PD Jammu,  Muhammad Hanief  Malik,  Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry, Jammu, Dr. S.P. Sharma and Mr .M. L. Munshi, Senior NC leader,  Jatinder Bhat, President Minority Cell,  Ashok Koul, Chairman, RDS and representives of Kashmiri Pandits Associations attended the meeting.

 Mubarak Gul announced that in view of the Maha Shivratri festival, the government will pay the monthly relief of Kashmiri Pandit families in advance for the month of February, 2011.

The Relief Commissioner has been asked to take necessary measures for providing relief to the migrants in advance.

The meeting was informed that LPG gas, ration, sugar and fresh vegetables particularly Kashmiri Nadroo and fish would be made available in the markets of Jammu city in general and migrants camps in particular from 27th February to celebrate the festival with traditional fervour.   Gul said that all the gas agencies and ration depots shall remain open even on holidays to enable the people get their ration in time.

Power Development Department has been asked to provide uninterrupted power supply during the festival.

Fisheries Department will get fresh fish from Dachigam Fish Farm which will be made available at identified locations in Jammu. Mobile vans will be pressed into service to provide fish to the people at the fixed rate of Rs 80 per kg.

The meeting was informed that special sanitation drive should be carried out in and around all the migrant camps.

 Mubarak Gul directed the Additional Commissioner, Jammu, to constitute a task force to l check the overcharging and black marketing.  Gul instructed the officers to take stern action against the shopkeepers indulging in selling commodities on exorbitant rates.
