He said that Government is keen to launch joint ventures inter alia in health sector in private public partnership mode, adding that cabinet sub-committee constituted to frame a policy in this behalf would submit its report soon.
The Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather, Minister for Medical Education, R. S. Chib, Chief Secretary Madhav Lal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, B. B. Vyas, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Sudhanshu Pandey, Director AIMS, Dr. Rekhi, Director SKIMS, Dr. A. H. Zargar Members of the Governing Body, Dr. G.Q. Allaqaband, Dr. Mehraj-ud-Din, Principal GMC Srinagar, Dean Faculty SKIMS and Principal SKIMS Medical College were present in the meeting.
Director SKIMS, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar while presenting agenda of the Governing Body informed that a prospective project for consultancy contract costing Rs 262 crore has been formulated for up-gradation of SKIMS. The project include Accident Emergency Services, a separate seven storey building for indoor patients and new OPD block to cater the rush of patients.
Dr. Zargar also apprised the Governing Body about the functioning of this prestigious institution.
The Chief Minister directed that all procedures should be completed expeditiously so that on the basis of proper consultancy, the project is taken up accordingly.
He urged upon the doctors to provide proper medicare services to the people.
The meeting discussed in detail various administrative measures and appropriate decisions were taken to streamline the functioning of the institute. The Governing Body was apprised about the progress in various fields and construction of female nursing hostel, maternity and administrative blocks which are at final stage.
The meeting was also informed about the functioning of different faculties and the Chief Minister appreciated the good work of entire staff of SKIMS, particularly, the Director, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar for providing medicare facilities to large number of patients who are visiting the Institute for treatment.
