A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting chaired by Minister of State for Tourism Nasir Aslam Wani, here today.
Commissioner/Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Atal Dulloo, Director Tourism, Kashmir Farooq Ahmad Shah and Managing Director, JKTDC Satesh Nehru attending the meeting.
Initially, eight destinations across the State have been shortlisted for air safaris for which national-level tenders will be invited to make the entire process transparent.
“Air safaris hold great potential in our State and gradually we will establish a well-coordinated network to take tourists to new identified spots in remote areas,” Nasir Aslam said.
The proposed air safaris will help tourists to venture into several inaccessible areas like Lolab-Bungus, Gurez and Zanskar, besides scenic spots in Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Rajouri districts.
