Those were the days when only
with preparations for agitation by opposition or any other political or social
organization used to send shivers deep down to rulers and administration. But
even after experiencing enough of enough with this exercise, agitators seems to
have tired and have reduced the day long bandhs to hourly ones. On the other
side ruling legends are hardly being affected. But those in power did not
desist to curb the innocent agitators with brutal acts instead of listening and
addressing their grievances.

first time in region against Chief Minister’s remark over accession and
discrimination with the region. The modern type shut down call was given by the
party after a successful shut down observed on the opening of darbar move. One
fails to understand as if party calls its pervious band as a huge success what
compelled them to reduce to modern type of hourly shut down.
State unit has lost
confidence either among the masses or it has a political motivation with the
rulers of the day. Saturday being holiday in civil secretariat and most of
schools observe half day. Going by the season, businessmen and others start the
day late in the morning. That means BJP wants to convey that they have not
killed two birds with one stone as neither have they wished to disrupt routine
working of people who had suffered losses during summer due to Kashmir unrest nor they lack behind in performing as a
strong opposition.
In
Valley, Hurriyat leader Ali Shah Geelani has also reduced his calendar from
months long unprecedented shut downs to hours now on wards. As per new
programme school and college students have been urged to stage
peaceful demonstration from 2 to 3 pm on November 30. Similarly, people from
all sections of life have been urged to stage similar protest demonstrations on
December 3 against the detention of political prisoners.
It is simply to understand
that people in valley are fed up of shut downs and protests besides government
has shifted darbar to its winter capital, shifting to hourly ear of shut downs
is evident. Otherwise people would not abide by the shut down calls which will
no way suit the so called sympathizers of commoners. Question arises that if
and when the methodology of shut downs and protests will not accepted by people
what will be the new course of action by these agitators. It remains worth to
think and watch.
