Srinagar, October 01 (Scoop News) – The Legislative Council today unanimously condemned the blasphemous Film made by an American Film Producer.
A resolution to this effect was introduced in the House by Chairman Amrit Malhotra who echoed the sentiments of the members on the issue.
The resolution besides condemning the film for hurting the sentiments of not only Muslims but the entire humanity also recommends to the government of India to exert its influence on the American Administration for stopping the telecast and spread of the Film to avoid further hatred and disharmony among people.
The house also adopted obituary references on the sad demise of former J&K Assembly Speaker, Malik Mohi-ud-Din and former member of the House Sardar Piara Singh.
Moving the obituary references Chairman Amrit Malhotra said words are not enough to describe these noble souls. He said he shares the sentiments of the members on these two personalities.
Speaking on the references Minister for Technical Education and leader of the House R.S.Chib described Malik Mohi-ud-Din as a leading lawyer who made a mark in politics. He said Sardar Piara Singh belonged to Labana Community who worked hard for its upliftment. He said both of them were secular leaders of stature, whose contribution to public life would be long remembered.
Chib also condemned the recent killings of Panches and Sarpanches in Kashmir Valley and convened his sympathies with the bereaved families.
Speaking on the references of obituary Murtaza Ahmed Khan paid rich tributes to Malik Mohi-ud-Din. He described him as a seasoned politician and nice gentleman.
Syed Rafiq Ahmed Shah remembered the social contribution of Malik Mohi-ud-Din and Sardar Piara Singh towards the upliftment of the society.
M.Y. Taing said that Malik Mohi-ud-Din played important role in Beigh-Parthasathy talks during Indira Sheikh accord. He said Malik Mohi-ud-Din was a renowned lawyer and his contribution as a speaker would be remembered for ever.
Bashir Ahmed Magray while paying tributes to Malik Mohi-ud-Din and Sardar Piara Singh described both of them as social workers whose departure has created void in public life.
Ajay Sadhotra in his reference said that Malik Mohi-ud-Din was a political icon and said that he was regularly witnessing the House proceedings when the Assembly Session would start during last so many years. He said Sardar Piara Singh has worked for the people living below poverty line.
B.R. Kundal paid rich tributes to Sardar Piara Singh and said that he always highlighted the issues of farmers and people in different government forums for their early redressal.
Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri described Malik Mohi-ud-Din as a compassionate Speaker and said that the best way to remember these leaders is that their contribution be uploaded on internet and official website. He also condemned the killings of Panches and Sarpanches in Kashmir Valley and conveyed sympathy with bereaved families.
Sheikh Ghulam Rasool in his reference said that Malik Mohi-ud-Din had devoted his life for the cause of people who was an important member of the Beigh-Parthasathy talks.
Javiad Ahmed Rana demanded for creation of the special wing for highlighting the contributions made by departed legislators.
G.R. Pardesi also described both of them as social workers adding they faced lot of difficulties in performing their duties.
The House also passed obituary reference on the demise of Ex- Union Minister and Maharashtra Chief Minister Late Vilas Rao Deshmukh.
Later, the House observed 2 minute silence in remembrance of departed leaders and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved families.
