The depart has established two nurseries of Amla in collaboration with Department of Horticulture and State Forest Research Institute Jammu that will serve as a quality planting source for free distribution among the farmers from Jammu region. With the help of technical persons from Department of Horticulture and State Forest Research Institute the J&K State Medicinal Plants Board has trained 30 AYUSH doctors across the state about the cultivation practices of Amla.
Under a part of this campaign, J&K State Medicinal Plants Board has started campaign for promoting the health benefits and cultivation of Amla in the educational institutions across the state. The Board in its aim to promote mass cultivation of Amla has started training farmers/growers through community awareness meetings involving Anganwadi Centres of the areas.
