This Minister was interacting with the Revenue Officers during his inspection to various sites of state lands at Industrial Estate in Jeevan Nagar (Near UCO Bank) and Langer village in Kunjwani, here this afternoon.
Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, . Indeerjit Bhagat, Tehsildar Territorial, . Subash Chib, Tehsildar Settlement, . Chaloo Ram, besides other senior officers of Revenue and Police accompanied the Minister.
. Bhalla asked the officers to fence all the Government lands in their respective areas as per revenue record so that the land to keep the habitual grabbers at bay. He said the Government is planning to use state land available at various places for the construction of social infrastructure and other assets like schools, tube wells, over head tanks, roads, bridges, multipurpose community halls etc.
The Minister asked the officers to retrieve Government land with full force under Common Land Act 1956 and put sign boards of the concerned departments for the knowledge of general masses. The Minister sought the cooperation of the people in identifying the encroached Government land in their respective areas and asked them to approach the special complaint cells established in the Deputy Commissioners offices for collecting information about encroachments on EP and State land across the State. He appealed the people to lodge information regarding land grabbers and their name on website www.jammu@nic.in also so that action will be initiated against them.
The Minister asked the land grabbers to vacate land voluntarily, other face action under Public Safety Act. He said Government has also received various complaints regarding fake allotments of State and EP land in different areas of the State. He asked them to enquire into the complaints and report to higher authorities for further necessary action.
At Langer village in Kunjwani, . Bhalla asked the accompanied Revenue Officers to retrieve 5 kanals and 8 marlas Government land near the local pond adding that Government is planning to construct school, over head tank and bathing ghat for ladies and gents on the available Government land for the benefit of locals.
At Gangyal near campa cola factory, the Minister asked the officials to look into the legality of the shops constructed on the embankments of local nallah. He asked the officers to verify the land from revenue record and inform the authorities about the status of the land.
Later, . Bhalla also attended the annual day function of DRS Kids school, Trikuta Nagar at General Zorawar Singh auditorium as Chief Guest.
Principal s. Supinder Kour, Prof. V P Singh Saigal, teaching, non-teaching staff members, parents, students besides prominent personalities were witness the cultural programme which was presented by Kids of the school.
Speaking on the occasion, . Bhalla said Government is making all out efforts to remove illiteracy from the state adding that scores of new schools have been opened and upgraded with all infrastructural facilities so that the students could get quality education at their doorstep institution. He asked the teachers to provide quality education to the students so that they become a good citizen of the country. He said teachers and parents are the main architect of the nation builders who shaping the personality of them. He asked the students to work hard and uphold the shish –guru traditions to get enlighten with knowledge. He asked them to pay more respect to teachers for achieving more knowledge in their education.
