The Minister was addressing at a mammoth public gathering here this afternoon. He said “if we want to accelerate the socio- economic development in the state, you have to ensure peacefull atmosphere to achieve the target”. He said “the valley lost the three full working season due to prolonged unrest in valley which has badly affected all the developmental projects besides hit other social sectors particularly education, health and tourism”. He said to protect the future of our young generation, “you have to good bye to Hartal Culture here”.
Mir said “Now-a-days I am very much happy while listening the demands of people for more and more developmental activities in their respective areas, to achieve their desired goal it needs peace and congenial atmosphere”. He said that we have to work hard with greater coordination among all the stake holders to become self reliant in every sector. He said state has abundant natural resources and it is our duty to explore the benefits of these resources in a planned fashion in eco- friendly manner.
The Minister assured the coalition Government is very much serious for the overall development of the State and various landmark initiatives have been taken in every sector in this direction. He said that a PMGSY programme was launched in the state to provide better road connectivity to rural and far-flung areas. He said that Rs 5 crores is being spent on up-gradation and macadamization of link roads during this fiscal in Tangmarg constituency.
For better delivery system of social sectors at grass root level, the Minister said that the newly elected panchayats members would play a revolutionary role in this direction. He said these panchayats would also help in strengthen the democracy at grass root level besides monitoring and executing the developmental works more efficiently and transparently.
Referring the demands put forth by the locals, Mir said that necessary steps have already been taken by the concerned departments. He said the tender works of 7 out of 22 damaged bridges /culverts have already been completed and tender work of rest of the bridges/culverts would be taken up soon. He said that the repair work of filtration plant of Tumberhama would be completed within one month, adding that education and health sector of these villages would upgraded in a phased manner for the benefit people.
