Srinagar, June 07 (Scoop News) –Underscoring the need for ensuring all preparedness well before commencement of forthcoming Amarnathji Yatra at Phalgam and Baltal base camps besides enroute to the cave and other transit camps at National Highway, the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora urged upon the concerned authorities to complete all works recommended by High level Committee (HLC) of Shri Amarnathji Yatra well in time for convenience of visiting yatries.
Chairing a high level officers meeting convened to review the status of Action Taken Report on the recommendations of HLC, the Minister asked the concerned authorities to mobilize their field agencies and maintain close coordination for ensuring all arrangements before commencing of forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Home, Nasir Aslam Wani was also present in the meeting.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister B.B.Vyas, Principal Secretary Home, B.R. Sharma, Principal Secretary to Governor and Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnath Ji Board, Naveen K. Chowdhary , Commissioner Secretary Tourism and Culture, Atul Dulloo, Commissioner Secretary R&B, Mrs. Tanveer Jehan, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pardeep Gupta, District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Farooq Ahmed Shah, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Ahmed, Director Tourism, Kashmir Talat Parvez, Director Tourism Jammu, R.S. Mehta, Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr. Saleem and Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam Development Authority, Altaf Hussain were among other senior officers who attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed pace of progress of various works like construction of impregnable gates at Chandanwari and Domel, upgradation of existing Rangamorh-Baltal-Domel road, widening and improvement works along Chandanwari-Holy Cave, establishment of transit camps along national Highway from Lakhanpur to Sonamarg and Pahalgam, establishment of Shelter units at various locations along yatra routes, strengthening of drinking water supply at Baltal, Panjtharni, Sheshnag and Holycave Camps, besides strengthening of electricity infrastructure and health care facilities being carried out by the concerned departments to facilitate the yatries.
The Concerned officers gave detailed appraisal to the Minister about the status of the works being carried out through their departments and assured that all under execution works especially under critical sectors are being completed within stipulated time frame for convenience of yatries.
The Meeting was assured that adequate medicare arrangement is being ensured at all yatra camps from Baltal and Phalgam routes.
