J&K Minister Flags off Education tour Relay (Watan-ki-Sair)

             Srinagar, September, 16 (Scoop News) – Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports,  R.S. Chib today flagged off an Educational Tour amidst much fanfare and gaiety which has been organized by Headquarters 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles under the Aegis of Headquarters Kilo Force for School Children of the Kilo Area of responsibility to Mumbai and Goa.  The tour aims to expose these young impressionable minds to the world outside the valley, providing opportunities and understanding and enabling them to identify more closely with their fellow countrymen.

            Colonel Rajeev Saksena, Deputy Commandant 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles was present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering of students and parents, the Minister said “India is a great democracy”.  It is based on secularism, recalling the freedom struggle of India in which every Indian irrespective of religion & faith participated in the freedom struggle and our country attained  independence under the guidance of father of nation late Mahatma Gandhi which was based on principle of Non-violence.

 He said imminent leaders of United India like Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Moulana  Abdul Kalam Azad, Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, Sardar Patel, Lala Lajpat Rai and Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah had participated in the freedom struggle.

            Chib further said these young boys proceeding on Educational Tour to different parts of India have great future and they are the future Leaders viz, Doctors, Engineers of this great country and ultimately have to serve the nation.  He made a special reference of Dr. Faisal who topped in Civil Services Examination 2009 and brought laurels to the State of Jammu & Kashmir and people are proud of him. 

           He also made special mention about, Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and expressed thanks for providing opportunity to 8000 youths of Jammu and Kashmir for being recruited in the National Youth Corps.  He said Chief Minister  Omar Abdullah is very keen to provide all possible opportunities to the youth of the State in the field of Education and Sports. 

             Chib lauded the role of Army specially posted in J&K who under “Operation Sadbhavana” are taking care of the Education, Sports and Medical facilities being provided to the youth of rural areas of Kashmir.

           The Educational tour of 14 days is scheduled to last on   28th Sep, 2010.  During this tour, students at Mumbai shall get an opportunity of visiting places of interest like Gateway of India, Hotel Taj, Haji Ali Dargah, Marine Drive, Chaupati and Nehru Planetarium and shall also meet prominent film personalities and His Excellency, the Governor of Maharashtra.

           At Goa, other than visiting places of interest, these students will have the honour of meeting His Excellency, The Governor of Goa and a ride in a Ferry in High Seas of the Indian Ocean.  The students selected for tour were very happy and enthusiastic during Flag Off Ceremony organized at Headquarters 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles at Hyderbeigh.

            Speaking on this occasion Colonel Rajeev Saksena highlighted the importance of people particularly the youth and the Army to join hands and restore normalcy in this area.   He said that youth of Kashmir must channelize their energies in constructive activities.
