Srinagar, May 11 (Scoop News) – Welcoming the statement of separatist leader Mohammad Yasin Malik about safeguarding the tourism industry in the Kashmir valley, Minister for Tourism & Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora today said promoting tourism is the best guarantee for State’s prosperity.
“ Malik has rightly said that Kashmir has a rich tradition and culture of hospitality and that Kashmiri is a perfect and ideal place for travelers to enjoy their holidays”, Jora said and hailed the remarks of Malik that “we can assure each and every guest of ours that we will do everything to safeguard them”.
The Tourism Minister hoped that improvement in security scenario in the state particularly in the valley would give big boost to tourism industry which is expected to witness big boom this season. He said government has launched massive tourism promotion campaign not only in the state but also in the country and worldwide. He said these efforts are bound to yield good results with the cooperation of all stakeholders.
Jora said government is endeavoring to clear all the misconceptions about the security scenario in the state adding that J&K is as safe for tourists as any other part of the country or world. He said infrastructure is being upgraded to the international standard in a phased manner to meet the requirements of the varied classes of tourists.
The Minister called upon the tourists to visit the valley and enjoy the varied natural beauty adding that the state’s people are eagerly waiting for their hospitality.
