Srinagar,July 25 (Scoop News) -: The weeklong annual Urs celebration of revered Sufi saint Hazrat Syed Ali Aali Balkhi(RA) at Pakherpora will commence from August 2, next month. The Poshak Bandi will be performed on July 31 Shab-e- Khwani and Darood-Azkar Majlis.
The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather, alongwith District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Khurshid Ahmed Shah and other senior officers of the districts administration today went to Pakherpora and reviewed the arrangements for the ensuing Urs Sharief.
Rather instructed the concerned officers to establish additional bath points so that pilgrims do not face any inconvenience for ablution. The traffic department was directed to make adequate arrangements of transport buses and sumos for carrying pilgrims to and fro Pakherpora from both Charari-Sharief as well as Pulwama routes. The health department was asked to setup special first aid camps en-route Pakherpora to meet any exigency.
Rather directed the concerned officers of CA&PD to provide additional quota of rice, atta, sugar, and K-Oil to the residents of Pakherpora so that they could meet requirements of the pilgrims during the Urs celebrations. He asked the power development department to ensure adequate power supply to Pakherpora during the Urs days. The PHE department was also directed to ensure adequate drinking water supply in Pakherpora for the convenience of pilgrims.
Rather said that Charar-i-Sharief-Pakherpora-Yusmarg road being upgraded and macadamized at a cost of Rs. 24 crore will be completed shortly.
