JK Minister visits residence of slain Sarpanch

 Srinagar, February 25 (Scoop News) – Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, along with Provincial President, NC, Nasir Aslam Wani and District President, NC, Javed Ahmad Dar, today visited Kalantra Payeen, in Baramulla district, to express condolences to the bereaved family of slain Sarpanch and NC worker, Javed Ahmad Wani, who was killed by unidentified gunman last evening.

           MLCs Ali Mohammad  Dar and GN Monga, DIG NKR, Rajesh Kumar, DC Baramulla, G A Khwaja and SSP Baramulla Anand Jain were also present.

            While expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, the Minister directed DIG NKR to conduct inquiry into the incident within two days to find out the circumstances that led to the killing of the Sarpanch, even when he was provided security cover. DIG Baramulla was asked to initiate strict action against the delinquent security personnel.  

Instructions were also issued to the District Administration to process ex-gratia relief and job in favour of the next of kin of the deceased family.

            Later, the Minister chaired a meeting of police and civil administration to review the overall law-and-order situation in the district.
