JK Ministers applaud the lifting of advisory by UK Govt

Srinagar, November 07 (Scoop News)- Minister for Tourism and Culture,  Nawang Rigzin Jora has lauded the efforts being put in by Chief Minister  Omar Abdullah for lifting the advisory by the British Government for its citizens against visiting Kashmir.

             Jora said that this is a good omen for tourism sector which will increase the inflow of foreign tourists to the valley and subsequently to the other parts of the State. He said, increase in the number of tourists shall improve the socio economic conditions of the people besides shall give fillip to the initiatives being taken for the development of tourism sector in the State.

            Pertinent to mention that the dynamic Chief Minister and Minister for Tourism had consistently persuaded the matter with British Government and the British High Commission in India. The efforts of the Chief Minister along with participation of J & K Tourism in the World mart at London since 2002 has also impacted the British attitude and paved the way for withdrawing the negative travel advisory for J & K.

            Minister for Tourism hoped that with the lifting of advisory for J & K by UK Government, other common wealth countries including Australia, New Zealand and Canada shall also change their attitude towards advices. Adding that these Common Wealth countries provide a rich source for enhancing the inflow of tourists to the Valley. Britain is the third country after Germany and Japan to have lifted the advisory to the State.

            Minister of State for Tourism  Nasir Aslam Wani has also appreciated the lifting of advisory and hoped that the other countries shall also follow to boost the tourism sector in the State.

            Minister for Tourism  Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister of State for Tourism  Nasir Aslam Wani have also appreciated the efforts being Putin by the Chief Minister of the State in maintaining peace and harmony requisite for flourishing of tourism sector.
