J&K Ministers hope that JKSG shall progress very fast

 

           Srinagar,June 02 (Scoop News) –  Thousands of J&K Scouts and Guides participated in a colourful march past at Indoor Stadium here today. The function was organized by J&K Scouts and Guides, J&K Chapter of All India Boys Scouts.

            Several cabinet Ministers added colour to the function by their presence as Chief Guest and Guests of Honour. They include Minister for Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Minister for Youth Services and Sports,  R. S. Chib and Minister for Higher Education,  A. G. Malik. Chief Commissioner, J&K Scouts, President Khawaja Farooq Renzu, Director School Education, s. Shagufta Parveen, Joint Secretary, State Board of School Education, Deputy Director Sports, Kashmir, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar,  S. P. Verma, teachers of various schools and students were also present.

            Minister for Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Minister for Youth Services and Sports,  R. S. Chib and Minister for Higher Education,  A. G. Malik, lauding the role of Khawja Farooq Ahmad Ranzu, in leading the JKSG most significantly and meritoriously, the Ministers hoped that JKSG shall progress very fast and the students of the State shall be benefited by his hard work and dedicated attitude towards the betterment of the social fabric.

            Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, while speaking on the occasion expressed his joy over the grand performance by the students of valley through JKSG.  Sayeed greeted  Renzu for putting in all out efforts in inculcating the spirit of patriotism, brotherhood, amity and above all the sense of discipline among student community. He said that JKSG like other voluntary organizations is playing a pivotal role in transformation of the society and above all serving to needy persons in different areas of the state. He said that Government is always at the back of such organizations to support wholeheartedly so that these activities flourish day in and day out for the betterment of people in general and student community in particular. The Minister extended invitation to all the students who participated in the march-past to a picnic for Gulmarg.

            Addressing the function,  R.S. Chib said that J&K Scouts and Guides (JKSG) which is a Chapter of All India Boys Scouts and is most reputed organization, engaged in shaping the future of younger generations, by educating them the discipline, sound character, obedience and moral attitude. He said that the volunteers of such organizations worked for the upkeep of society in respect of care of old, mentally and physically challenged persons, poor and deserving ones. He said that a mega camp of volunteers is being held at Pahalgam on 10th June this year, in which 700 scouts and Guides would participate. He invited 100 Lions Award winners of J&K Scouts and Guides to participate in the camp.

            Speaking about the steps being taken by the State Government in development of sports culture,  Chib said that the Central Government has decided to nominate 20,000 National Youth Corps at national level, out of which 6000 volunteers would be selected from J&K State.

            Referring to the maintenance of Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium,  Chib said that Rs 2 crore have been released for the repairs and renovation of stadium so that the sports persons are benefited with various facilities being made available there.

            Minister for Higher Education,  A. G. Malik, while addressing the function expressed his happiness over the best performance of Scouts and Guides on the occasion. He said that Scouts & Guides are popular in nook and corner of the country and they play a significant role in J&K State. He said that J&K S&G also play commendable role during natural calamities and save precious lives and property from damage and disaster,  Malik exhorted upon the students community to come forward in large numbers to participate in voluntary activities.

            Speaking about widening the sphere of activities,  Malik stressed upon JKSG to organize more camps in rural and remote areas so that the awareness about social service and development is brought among the masses living in these areas.

            The function was also addressed by President, JKSG, Khawja Farooq Renzu saying that revolution of love needs to be brought in the State,  Renzu said that Saints, Reshis and Great persons have taught us the lesson of helping under-privileged people and needy ones. He said that the hidden talent of students needs to be exploited by hard work of teachers and parents so that every student proves to be Dr Shah Faisal of Kashmir.

            Urging upon the Government to support JKS&G,  Renzu said that the efforts of Government in nurturing the youth have always been encouraging and further impressed upon the Government to provide liberal financial assistance to JK S&G so that the organization would prosper more in the days to come.
