JK Ministers inspect beautification works of river Tawi front

Jammu, November 16 (Scoop News) –Taking strong note over the slow pace of beautification works on river Tawi front adjacent to upcoming artificial lake, the Minister for Tourism and Culture,  Nawang Rigzin Jora today directed concerned executing agencies and field functionaries for speeding up the pace of development works at the site to ensure its time bound completion. He warned the concerned officers against any delay in execution of projects adding that any default in this account will invoke stern action.

            The Tourism Minister was accompanied by the Minister of State for Tourism and Home,  Nasir Aslam Wani and Commissioner Secretary Tourism and Culture,  Atal Duloo.

            The Centre has earmarked Rs. 3.80 crore for the beautification and development of river Tawi front which includes development of tourist attractions like public recreation parks, fencing on river and road sides, public conveniences, parking lots and shelter sheds cum viewpoints, besides illumination of river side.    

            While instructing to gear-up men and machinery for ensuring time bound completion of the works.  Jora called for close coordination between Irrigation, Revenue, Tourism and other concerned departments for removing bottlenecks in smooth implementation of the development works.

            The Minister also directed the concerned authorities to ensure completion of developmental works of Peer-Kho temple site by this month and instructed that it should be ensured that all tourism works being carried out in Jammu division be completed well in time with assurance for use of quality material and judicious utilization of funds allocated for the purpose.
