Srinagar, September 26 (Scoop News) – The Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar accompanied by the Minister of State for Roads and Buildings, Javaid Ahmed Dar today visited the residences of the Panchayati Raj Represnetatives, who were recently killed by some unidentified persons at Pattan and Nowgam, Sopore in Baramulla district.
While interacting with the families, the Minister assured them that the government would provide every necessary assistance to them and a he would take up the matter of providing a job to the deceased families with the Chief Minister at an earliest. He said that the government would also see to it that the persons involved in these heinous crimes are brought to book.
While interacting with the people there, the Minister said that these types of dastardly acts are crimes against humanity and people from all sections of society should condemn these besides, working unitedly to defeat the elements who are trying to disrupt the peace and disturb the developmental activities initiated by the government.
Sagar said that the government by holding elections to the Panchayati Raj Institutions and ensuring the proper empowerment of the same had ensured that democratic decentralization of powers by involving people at gross root levels in implementation of various welfare programmes. “Certain forces are trying to sabotage the same and in a way they are acting against the interests of the people of the State and we should collectively defeat the nefarious designs of these forces who are acting against the interests of State and humanity”, the Minister added.
