Srinagar,April 12 (Scoop News) – Minister of State for Tourism Nasir Aslam Wani today urged urged all stakeholders in State economy to contribute positively towards making J&K self-reliant and financially vibrant state.
The Minister was chairing a meeting at SKICC with members of Kashmir Economic Alliance, here today.
Besides, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Commissioner, SMC, G. N. Qasba, General Secretary, KEA, Iqbal Trubmoo, Secretary, KEA, Siraj Ahmad, representatives from KTMF, KHARA, Kashmir Flour Mills, Kashmir Minibus Transport Federation, Western Bus Service, Tourist Taxi Operators Association, Kashmir Food Processing Association, Kashmir Motor Drivers Association, J&K Contractors Central Coordination Committee, New Kashmir Frui Association, HBOA, Auto Drivers Association and Jammu Kashmir Goods Transport Companies Association attended the meeting.
While referring to the revised package of incentives for tourism sector announced by the Government, the Minister said the present coalition will go whole hog in mitigating the problems of all stakeholders directly connected to the tourism industry in the State. He said the package has been revisited to increase footfall of tourists and create ample employment opportunities in tourism sector in the State.
The Minister said the Government has made concerted efforts in making tourism an all-year activity. “This year we had huge influx of tourists in winter. Opening of the Tulip Garden in March has lengthened our tourist season and hopefully many more visitors will come and visit us this year,” he said.
Nasir Aslam assured members of the conglomerate that the issues raised by them have been flagged for immediate follow up action. “KEA has raised certain important issues that we will have to look into. I will raise all these with the concerned Ministries and see that these are resolved on priority,” the Minister said.
The Minister assured KEA that he will hold periodic meetings for ironing out issues that require his instant intervention.
The members of KEA thanked the State Government for revising the incentives for tourism as an industry. They said the revised package will go a long way in opening up new vistas in tourism sector and generate enough revenue and employment opportunities for our youth.
