JK passing through golden era of devlopment :Rather

 

Srinagar, August 11 (Scoop News) – Asserting that the state is passing through a golden era of development and progress, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs,  Abdul Rahim Rather today said that remote and bad pockets are receiving un- parallel attention of the government for their all round development .

Addressing Public gatherings in remote villages of Nowgam and Branpatheri of Charar-i- Sharief constituency today,  Rather said decentralization of power has further accelerated the tempo of development, adding that peoples’ empowerment, welfare and development are the key objectives of the present government.

Seeking peoples’ cooperation in supplementing governments’ development initiatives,  Rather said peoples’ active participation in planning and development process is vital to bring socio economic transformation in the State. He reaffirmed government’s resolve to provide all the basic facilities to the people in remote areas at par with cities and towns. He said service to the people is a mission of my life and assured the people that no stone would e left unturned for the up-liftment of backward areas. He said the basic objective of visiting far flung areas along with the officers is to get the administration at the door step of the people to get on the spot appraisal about their problems and difficulties.

Responding to the demands of the people  Rather said that work on Rs. 8.14 Cr Kanidajan Nowgam road will be fast tracked and it will be ensure that its soling and matling of the road is completing during the current year. He said that Rs. 5 crore have been earmarked for mecadamization of this 10 km long road stretch. This road after completion will bring much needed relief to the people of this backward and remote area and will generate more business and conomic activities.

He also announced to open a primary health centre at some centeral location of the area so that people are provided better health care facilities adequately. He also announced to upgrade the Government Middle school Nowgam to High school level so that students of this area are provided more education facilities. He also announced to open a Government Ration Depot in Nowgam

While asking the people to be united, Mr Rather cautioned them about the machination of opposition which is not happy with the revolutionary steps of the government and is hell bent to retard the pace of development.  

Deputy Commissioner, Budgam,  Kurshid Ahmed Shah, Chief Engineer, PMGSY,  Abdul Hamid, CMO, Budgam Dr. Aleem and other district officers and engineers accompanied the Minister during the tour.
