They condemned Police cane charging on female cadre of Physiotherapy Doctors when they were marching peacefully from Parade to Civil Secretariat.

The protest demonstration continued on the 13th consecutive day here today. They are demanding their absorption in Government jobs.

JKPA leaders explained that Physiotherapy is a basic need of today especially when our life style has totally changed or say westernized and people are suffering more and more from occupational diseases e.g. neck pain, back pain, stress heart diseases etc are becoming common these days.Only physiotherapy can play a major role and can improve the health of general population. The Importance of physiotherapy and its need in the health care system is not unknown to anyone, they said.

They said that from the past many years J&K state government. has not come up with any genuine package for their employment. Our state is number one in health care sector but still physiotherapy is not included in health care and without physiotherapy how can we say our healthcare sector is top among the list.

Leaders said that 30% of our population need physiotherapy in public sector with only few or fewer units in public sector with only few physiotherapists employed there not more than 10.We have more than 3000 physiotherapists in the state but totally unemployed waiting for their turn and looking at the government for any policy for them.Government is deceiving and provide false assurance and is running away from their responsibility.

They demand the absorption of all the physiotherapists of the state as soon as possible other wise they will launch a mass agitation against the injustice and maltreatment from government.
