He urged the jawans “our aim should be to serve and provide better police service to the public at all levels”.
Appreciating the role of jawans and officers, the DGP said that
Listening to the problems presented to him, the DGP assured that these would be looked into for appropriate action. He asked them to work with zeal and utmost devotion.
Talking about the welfare measures, the DGP said that welfare of jawans is on top of our agenda and the department has established a Central Welfare Fund for the support of jawans and their families. For this purpose the Organization has launched various welfare schemes. He said during 2010 more than Rs.13 crores have been paid under various welfare schemes to the families of serving, serving, retired, families of martyrs personnel and SPOs. He said recently a meeting of Central Police Welfare Committee (CPWC) was held and several major decisions with regard to enhance the welfare measures were taken. Earlier, the IGP, Jammu Zone, Dilbag Singh welcomed the DGP and other officers. He said the event helps in sharing expertise for better policing.
On the occasion, the DGP handed over the appointment orders to 35 SPOs as Constables and Followers. 5 Constables have been given out of turn promotion as Selection Grade Constables and 1 Selection Grade Constable promoted as Head Constable. He said that these SPOs and Jawans have shown good performance while fighting the militancy and save life and property of the public in their jurisdictions. He said humanitarian approach of these jawans with the citizens were appreciated by the department and also by the people of the society. |
