Jammu, March 13 (Scoop News) –The Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association (JKPWWA), Dr. Indu Khoda said that JKPWWA is endeavouring to reach out physically challenged and other disadvantaged sections of the society and extend all possible help and support so that they can live more purposeful and productive lives. She assured the children and the functionaries of the Institute that the entire Police Parivar has always been helping such initiatives for the past many years and would continue to do so in future as well.
Dr. Indu Khoda was speaking after donating various items worth Rs. one lakh, which include 1 Computer, 1 T.V. Set, 1 Air Cooler, two dozen Chairs, Tables and Utensil items to the inmates of the special children of ‘SAHYOG INDIA Prerna Institute for Physically Challenged Children at a function held in the Institute premises at Miran Sahib here today.
The function was organized by the J&K Armed Police. The assistance has been granted by the Police Organisation under its Civic Action Programme. She said that assistance would help the Institution to further improve its facilities for the children.
She highlighted the role of NGOs, Philanthropic Organizations and individuals in supplementing the efforts of the Government for the welfare of the physically challenged children.
On the occasion, Dr. Indu Khoda appreciated the role of management of Institution for this noble cause and gave valuable suggestions for its improvement. She spent some time with these children and interacted with them.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Founder President of SAHYOG INDIA, Dr. Ashvani Jojra thanked the Police Organization specially DGP, Chairperson JKPWWA and IR 15th Jammu based Battalion for providing assistance for the children.
Among others, the function was attended by Deputy Inspectors General of Police, T. Punchok and Danish Rana, members of JKPWWA, Senior Citizens of the area, Commandants of Jammu based IRP and Armed Battalions and other police officers.
