Voters at Vjaypur
Srinagar/Jammu,December 14,(Scoop News)- Nearly 24.58 per cent of the voters cast their votes in the first four hours of polling in the fourth phase of elections for 18 seats in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
With a record turnout registering 71% and 58 % voting in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Phase, the fourth phase of the assembly is going to the polls today.
Voting for the fourth phase of J&K Assembly Elections 2014 has commenced in the 18 constituencies today including 18-Hazratbal, 19-Zadibal, 20-Eidgah, 21-Khanyar, 22-Haba Kadal, 23-Amira Kadal, 24-Sonwar, 25-Batamaloo, 40-Anantnag, 42-Dooru, 43-Kokernag, 44-Shangus, 45-Bijbehara, 46-Pahalgam, 35-Wachi 36-Shopian, 68 Samba (SC) and 69Vijaypur spread across four districts of Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian and Samba.
Despite severe cold, people were seen marching towards the polling booths and long queues of electorate were seen outside the polling booths to exercise their franchise.
