JK Speaker expresses solidarity with Gaza people

Srinagar, August 25, (Scoop News)- The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul today expressed anguish over the killings of innocent people in Gaza. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Earlier Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly today paid glowing tributes to the ex-Members of the House who passed away during the recent months.
Speaker, Mubarak Gul while resuming the first day’s business of last session of 12th Assembly, moved the Obituary Reference in the House to pay homage to the late leaders including, Ch. Mohammad Aslam, Abdul Ahad Vakil, Mohammad Akbar Ganai and Miss Mehmooda Ahmad Ali Shah.
Highlighting the rich contributions made by the late Members for the development and welfare of the State, the Speaker said that the services rendered by them will be remembered by the people of the State for many years. He said the contribution of these leaders for strengthening the parliamentary democratic system would always inspire the sitting members. He said real tribute to the late leaders will be to fullfill their unfinished dreams and we all should carry forward their work for the betterment of the society.
Remembering the contribution of the late Members, Gul described Aslam as veteran political figure of the State, who was born at village Lassana, Surankote of District Poonch in 1939. He said late Aslam will always be remembered for his whole hearted and selfless services towards the up-liftment of the downtrodden people of backward areas particularly the Gujjar Community. A man of principles and high integrity, he always fought for the development of socio-economic conditions of the people of the state especially those living in far-flung and remote areas, said Gul.
The Speaker said late Abdul Ahad Vakil enriched the state’s political and legal spectrum with his valuable contributions. He said late Vakil with his unbiased and impartial role as Speaker of the House has at his credit a remarkable contribution towards strengthening of the highest democratic institution of the state. The late leader known for his sharp wits remained committed throughout his life for the upliftment of downtrodden and weaker sections of the society who served the people of the state vigorously throughout his political career for which he will be remembered forever, the Speaker said.
Gul described late Mohammad Akbar Ganai as a man of integrity who had the distinction of serving the people of the state in different capacities till his last breath for which he will be remembered forever.
The Speaker said late Miss Mehmooda Ahmad Ali Shah will always be remembered and acclaimed for her role as a social activist, an able educationist and a political leader who all along her life fought for the cause of the upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the society and emancipation of women and was conferred with the Padmashree in recognition of her whole hearted and selfless services she rendered in every field of the life.
Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, A R Veeri, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, M. Y. Tarigami, Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Mohammad Sharief Niaz, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, Er. Rashid, Shabir Ahmad Khan and Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan also paid tributes to late Members and highlighted their role for the betterment of the society and people of their constituencies particularly.
