Jammu, January 05 (Scoop News) –The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, Association of State Road Transport Undertakings, New Delhi has adjudged Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation for a Special Award for operating Public Transport under severe geographical conditions for the year, 2011-12
In the 57th Annual Conference of State Transport Undertaking at New Delhi on 3rd of January, 2013, the Award was presented by Shri A.K. Uphadav, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India to Managing Director, JKSRTC Shri J.S.Tandon in a special function.
In receipt of this Special Award at New Delhi, Minister for CAPD & Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon, J&K who is the Chairman, JKSRTC and Minister of State for Transport Shabir Khan Vice Chairman, JKSRTC have expressed their heartiest congratulations to the team of officers and entire staff of JKSRTC for such Special Award expecting their similar consistent performance in future too so that JKSRTC does rejuvenate itself and leap towards achieving further appreciable landmarks. Dedicated efforts of JKSRTC employees with the endeavour to serve the cause of offering transport services at odd hours and at times under quite adverse conditions have already been successful to the extent of fulfilling the target to double its revenue earnings at the end of current year 2011-12 vis-à-vis earnings of 2009-10 with further improvement during 2012-13.
During the 47th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of ASRTU at New Delhi,it was decided for the 1st time to have JKSRTC represented by Sh.J.S.Tandon Managing Director, J&K,SRTC as a member on the Governing Council of Central Institute of Road Transport, Pune for the year 2012-13.
