Jammu, October 02, (Scoop News)- On the nation’s first ever massive campaign to mobilize public opinion to undertake cleaning drive throughout country to fulfill the dream of Father of nation Mahatma Gandhi on his jayanti, the entire leadership of J&K BJP took part in Swachh Bharat campaign in Kanak Mandi, SMGS Hospital, Jammu Railway Station and party office.
BJP State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, alongwith leader of legislative party Ashok Khajuria, State General Secretary & former Mayor Kavinder Gupta, District Presidents Rajesh Gupta and Subash Jandial and other leaders undertook this campaign in the premises of SMGS Hospital in presence of GMC Principal Ganshyam Dev Gupta, Medical Superintendent Dr. Dara Singh and Medical Employees Association President Pardeep Kumar.
They also took part in similar campaign from City Chowk to Kanak Mandi Chowk, which was organized by Jammu District President Rajesh Gupta.
Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas also shared this path breaking chore with Jammu Railway Station Divisional Traffic Manager R.N. Meena, Addl. Railway Manager Mahavir Singh, Station Superintendent Ashwani Kumar, Dy. Chief Commercial Manager S.S. Aggarwal.
Later, State General Secretary Kavinder Gupta, State Spokespersons Lalit Moza (Adv.) and Balbir Ram Rattan, State Secretary Munish Sharma, Office Secretary Rajinder Sharma, Distt. Press Secretary Er. Ashwani Khosla and BJYM Vice-President Ashish Sareen undertook the cleanliness drive in the premises of party headquarters at Kachi Chawni.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while speaking on the significance of this campaign, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi being a great nationalist visionary and having true faith in the teachings and exemplary spartan life style of Mahatma Gandhi, has initiated this “Swachh Bharat” abhiyan. The cleanliness which Mahatma Gandhi used to maintain in his surroundings and also advising all to maintain same, did not involve any expenditure. This was so as the cleanliness was result of Gandhiji’s personal efforts. It is for this reason Narendra Modi has started this campaign involving the personal labour and thereby avoiding any expenditure. This is to inspire everyone to maintain cleanliness not only of his home but also surroundings place of work and make others also to follow.
Ashok Khajuria said that the concept of “Swachh Bharat” should not be taken in a narrow sense but given broader meaning. “Swachh Bharat” means that not only dirt and garbage free environment but also neat and clean public life, politics and inspiring conduct of public figures. BJP being committed to the nation building and progress of everyone, the concept of “Swachh Bharat” lays down the path that is to be adopted for this.
Kavinder Gupta stated that while he was Mayor of the city, he had got initiated many novel schemes to ensure garbage free Jammu. Cleanliness is a article of faith for him and has always work in this direction. Thanking Narendra Modi for his “Swachh Bharat” campaign, Gupta said that it is for the first time that cleanliness has been sought to be achieved at the national level in all nooks and corners of the country and we in J&K wholeheartedly have taken it.

Gandhi Nagar Mandal President Tarsem Choudhary organized this campaign in Govt. Hospital, Channi Himmat and Trikuta Nagar.
Satwari Mandal Sat Pal Choudhary organized this campaign in Shastri Nagar area.
Janipur Mandal President Praduman Singh and Talab Tillo Mandal President Ayodhya Gupta also undertook this campaign their respective mandals.
BJYM organized similar programmes at Dogra Chowk under Morcha Incharge Yudhvir Sethi.
Mahila Morcha State President Priya Sethi, organized similar campaign in the premises of Nightingale School.
