JK witnessed tremendous development : Sakina

Srinagar, June 19 (Scoop News) –Senior National Conference leader and Minster for Social Welfare, Trainings and ARI, Ms Sakina Itoo today said that during the last four and half years rule of the Mr Omar Abdullah, the State has witnessed tremendous development in all the spheres while some essential sectors who are directly linked with basic requisite amenities of the common man provide better health care, quality education, un-interrupted power supply, essential commodities at the doorsteps of people. She further said that these sectors have been prioritised by the present Government so that every persons of the State may get benefitted by these facilities.
She said the present dispensation is very much committed for the development of the rural areas especially remote and far flung areas of the State.
The Minster was today addressing a huge gathering at a function organised in connection with joining scores of PDP workers with National Conference at Manzgam in district Kulgam.
Welcoming the new entrants into National Conference, MS Sakina said that National Conference is not a party but a movement which has given a new direction to peace, progress, prosperity and the welfare of the people of the State. She said since the Omar Abdullah took the reins of the present dispensation, a new era of the development works has been started in every nook and corner of the State. Government is making every effort to connect every remote especially far flung area with towns and cities so that the difference between the cities and rural may end and there would be equal development in every part of the State.
Referring to the developmental works presently under execution in Manzgam village, the Minister was informed that during last financial year, Rs.31 lakhs have been expended on the construction of various protection walls ,upgradation of lanes and drains besides Rs.9 lakhs have been spend on fencing of graveyard. She was further told that the during the current financial Rs.1.15 crore would be spend on the upgradation of lanes, drains and construction of protection walls in Manzgam area. She was further told that Rs.4.38 lakhs have been spent on 326 Units under IHHL among which 86 are completed.
Responding to the demands of the area, the Minister assured that special focus would be given on the development of this area and directed concerned Block Development Officer for taking prompt action on the issues raised by the locals at the function. She said no doubt, the un-employment is a very crucial issue but despite that thousands of educated youths have been provided jobs and a number of youth have been covered under skill development programmes, so that they may able to earn their livelihood with dignity and honour. She said that main aim of the present Government is to serve the people of State.
