JKAACL organised traditional folk music programme

Kathua, November 08, (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and languages today organised a traditional folk music programme at village Bagyal in District Kathua. Narinder Singh Bali, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua while Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Executive Officer,
Lakhan Pur Sarthal Development Authority, Deptt of Tourism and Culture was the guest of honour. Sh D. C. Salotra, Retd, Session Judge, Sh. Rattan Chand Retd. SSP and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K
Academy of Art, Culture and languages were also present in the presidium.
While speaking on the occasion ADDC complimented J&K Cultural Academy and said that through such cultural activities the youth of the area can be encouraged to learn the the rich and old traditional values . He also appreciated the artists who performed in traditional folk music programme and said that kathua is rich in art, culture and literature and lot of talented artists of the area have contributed alot in their respective area of performance’
Dr Bharat Bhushan, KAS, CEO, also appreciated J&K Cultural Academy for holding traditional folk music activity for the first time in the remote village of Bagyal.
While applauding the performance of artists he said that Ms Vibha Bharti and Mr Dilsher Singh who also performed in this program have succeeded to introduce Kathua District at national level through their talent of singing and it’s a matter of proud to have such talent in this region.
Earlier Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, while welcoming the distinguished guests and audience said that J&K Cultural Academy has now taken an initiative to reach to the rural and remote areas of various parts of Jammu region and this activity is part of the schedule of Academy. He further told that through the programmes of visual and performing arts, literature and culture especially the folk of Jammu region the youth of the various areas are being focussed so that they can be motivated and made aware of regional identity, our rich cultural heritage and value of mother tongue.
In this traditional folk music programme the artists who performed include: Dilsher Singh and Party (Kathua), Ramesh Lal Dogra and Party (Nagri Parol), Shakti Lalotra and Party (Bagyal), Rajesh Kohli,
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Senior Drama Instructor, J&K Cultural Academy conducted the proceedings and also presented vote of thanks.
Among others were present include Sh. Punjab Chand , Er. Nirmaljit Singh Amn, Chairman, Kartar Educational Trust, Barnoti, S. Gurdeep Singh, Sh Randhir Katal,Mr Naseeb Chand, Mr Amar Nath Bougal and Prominent personalities of the region.
