JKRCEA HELD CHINTAN BAITHAK TO FIGHT FOR RESERVATION


Jammu, Jan. 7: In order to chalk out their strategy to fight for protection of reservation right of the reserved categories, one day Reservation Chintan Baithak was organized here today by the Kashmir Unit of Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA) at Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Hall, Krishna Nagar, Jammu in which the large numbers of members from socio-religious groups, non-employees and, employees of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Residents of Backward Areas (RBA) and Actual Line of Control (ALC) categories participated and took part in the brainstorming.
At the commencement of this Chintan Baithak, Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA) held a condolence meeting over the sad demise of Mufti Mohd Sayeed, Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K State. While condoling his demise, Dr. Sanjay Bhasin, President of JKRCEA said that Mufti Mohd Sayeed was a visionary politician who significantly worked towards the up-liftment of downtrodden section of the society. Two minutes silence and prayers were also held to pay homage to Mufti Mohd Sayeed.
The Chintan Baithak was inaugurated by the President of JKRCEA Dr. Sanjay Bhasin, chief guest and attended by Joginder Paul, Roshan Din Choudhary, Fareed Ahmed Choudhary, Ved Prakash, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Tara Chand, M.R.Bangotra, Piran Ditta, President, Guru Ravi Dass Sabh, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Vice, President, All India Bhagat Mahasabha, Prof. Kali Dass, Ajit Singh Adyal, Raj Kumar Bhagat (Sarpanch).
During the proceeding of the Chintan Baithak on reservation, it was unanimously resolved by all the delegates that they would jointly fight for the protection of the rights of all the reserved classes. Present on the occasion, the heads of all socio-religious organizations, leaders of Jammu Kashmir Pensioners Association and Civil Society have also extended their whole hearted support to movement launched by JKCREA for reservation protection.
Speaking of the occasion, Dr. Sanjay Bhasin said that now the JKCREA has attained the shape of big movement and this will not be stopped till the constitutional rights guaranteed to these marginalized classes are not safeguarded. Coming down heavily on the authorities sitting a the helm of affairs in dealing the issue of reservation in promotion, he declared that so far the state government has maintained an indifferent attitude in restoring the reservation in promotion, they would leave no stone unturned till the right of reservation in promotion is not restored.
Dr Zabeer Ahmed while speaking at the Chintan Baithak said that JKRCEA has decided to organize a mega rally for reservation in promotion in collaboration with All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, All India Bhagat Mahasbha, Kabir Sabha, Mahasha Sabha, Batwal Sabha, Sarayara Sabha, Tribal United Forum, Gujjar Bakerwal Welfare Society and other socio-religious groups. He also told that the exact date of this rally would be announced within a week time. The present issue is the matter of right of all reserved sections but unfortunately this has been treated very unfairly, at this point of time, nobody should oppose in giving the constitutional proviso meant of the reserved categories, he lamented.
Piran Ditta, President Guru Ravi Dass Sabha while appreciating JKRCEA for uniting the reserved categories on a single plateform assured all possible support to the cause taken up by this association of employees. He also disclosed that this year Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti shall be celebrated with lakhs of members of these categories are expected would join.
Pertinent to mention here that the J&K in its judgment on October 9, 2015, struck down Section 6 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004, and Rules 9, 10 and 34 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules 2005. The petitioners of reserved categories challenged this verdict in the Apex Court and got the status quo over the DB judgement.
Fareed Ahmed Choudhary, Romeshwar Kumar, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Roshan Din Choudhary, M.R.Bangotra, Kuldeep Kumar Bhagat, M.R.Bhamagi, Lal Mani, Sanjay Bhagat, Jeet Lal, Rajesh Gorkha, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Joginder Kumar, Ram Krishan, Mushtaq Choudhary, Romesh Kumar, Tara Chand, Sunil Thapa and Prof. Kali Dass, Gen. Secretary, were among many others who spoke on the ocassion. Suresh Badgal conducted the proceeding and Deepak Kaith presented vote of thanks.
