Jodha-Akbar (Hindi: अकà¥à¤¬à¤° जोधा, Urdu: اکب جودھا)
Is a forthcoming film, to be released in 2007.
It is being directed and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker, the director of Oscar-nominated Lagaan.
It stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles.
Extensive research has gone into the making of this film, and it starts filming in August 2006.
It is about the romance between the Muslim, Mughal Emperor Akbar, played by Hrithik Roshan and his Hindu wife, Jodhabai, played by Aishwarya Rai.
The music will be composed by acclaimed music composer A R Rahman.
Shooting for the film started recently. This movie is schedule to release in October 12, 2007.
Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai come together once again in director Ashutosh Gowarikar’s epic love saga "Jodha Akbar."
Set against the pre-historic period, this movie defines the real love story of King Akbar and his wife Jodha Bai.
On casting the gorgeous Ash in the lead role of Jodhabai, Gowarikar said, "Jodha has to be elegant, dignified and a classic beauty. Aishwarya fits the bill."
And on Hrithik as Akbar, Gowarikar said, "He is a tremendous actor,lending himself to any character. He was brilliant in his last two films, Koi Mil Gaya and Lakshya. He has maintained his stardom but at the same time is experimenting with different roles. He has the stance and posture of a king.
Hrithik will make a good Mughal emperor."
