John McCain “suspends” campaign, yet still interviews with Katie Couric? 9/25

How is doing a nationally-broadcasted interview a suspension of his campaign? How does he have time to interview with Katie Couric, but no time to debate Obama? How is this interview helping solve the economic crisis in anyway?

This move is obviously a political ploy to go with his “country first” propaganda. After taking every side under the sun in the past few weeks, to no avail, he is now going back to his “ambush” tactics in an attempt to distract voters from the past 2 weeks of mistakes and blunders. Watch him try to take credit for pushing against the GOP and unifying Congress once they finally do get a resolution; despite him not even being on the banking committee and his own record of voting with the GOP. I would like to know how his attendence will help in any way after he’s admitted numerous times over the years how he needs to be more educated on economic issues, unless he’s just going to take notes. He’s been in the Senate for over 25 years pushing for DE-regulation and we have seen where that has gotten us.

A potential President should be able to handle multiple things at once. He should be capable of focusing his attention on fixing the economy over the next 2 days while still being able to debate his positions for 1 1/2 hours on Friday night. The American people deserve to know where each candidate stands on the major issues so that they can make an educated decision. Time does not stop running just because a crisis occurs.

Also, why can’t his running-mate fill in for him and run the campaign for a few days? Being a "heartbeat" away from the presidency, I would hope that she is capable of running a campaign for less than a week, seeing as how she could potentially be running the country for much longer.

This move is transparent and just makes him look weak.
