New Belgium Brewing, maker of Fat Tire Amber Ale, today announced that it will once again serve as a beer sponsor at the 5Point Film Festival. The event will be held April 26-29, 2012 in Carbondale, Colorado, and all proceeds from beer sales will go directly to the festival.
5Point Film Festival inspires adventure of all kinds while connecting generations and emphasizing the protection of our natural resources. The goal of 5Point is to highlight the five guiding principles of respect, humility, commitment, purpose and balance.
Highlights of the festival include the screening of a wide variety of films, gallery events and parties, and a prestigious list of special guests, including Renan Ozurk and Jimmy Chin, who were the first to ascent the Shark’s Fin on Mount Meru in the Garwhal Himalaya (5pointfilm.org/festival/special-guests). Pre-sale tickets are available online and at the ticket office in the Carbondale Recreation Center. More information about passes and availability is on the event site: http://5pointfilm.org/tickets.
New Belgium will be out in full force at the multi-faceted event, providing beer at the director’s dinner and the Sunday night closing party and selling beer during events. In addition, New Belgium will play a role in the Campfire Stories, a series of stories told by select filmmakers who are featured on the Dirtbag Diaries podcast. People who attend the Campfire Stories may also hear from New Belgium co-workers as they lead beer tastings and storytelling.
“We’ve been a partner of 5Point Film Festival since its inception and are proud to sponsor an event that aligns so closely with our culture and passions,” said Shawn Hines with New Belgium Brewing. “Come out to celebrate films and artistry that is sure to inspire us all.”
In step with New Belgium’s ethos, 5Point is steeped in sustainability by hosting the event at the Carbondale Recreation Center, a LEED-certified building; using all compostable and recycled materials for their event; and partnering with 1% For The Planet.
