Angelina Jolie’s secret to beautiful skin is out. After losing what some claim to be a drastic amount of weight, Angelina Jolie has recently displayed bulging veins on her arms, hands and forehead while her normally-glowing appearance seems a bit dull.
To combat this, Jolie has become a fan of a $400-a-time (peanuts for her) treatment extracted from the eggs of Baerii sturgeon, reared on farms in the South of France.
The actress is said to use caviar as a beauty treatment. According to sources, the 32-year-old actress began using the fish egg products after worrying over protruding veins in her arms, hands and forehead after her recent weight loss.
Reports say Jolie, who has four children with Brad Pitt, uses creams made from the eggs of Baerii sturgeon fish. The procedure, which is said to help fight “slackened skin and loss of firmness,” cost nearly $400 per treatment.
In sessions lasting up to three hours, Jolie is swaddled like a mummy to sweat out toxins before being smothered all over in the body cream. It promises to ‘drench the skin with moisture and nourishment’ and combat ‘loss of firmness and slackened skin’.
Because of the high oil and protein content of caviar, it is thought to be especially moisturising. The fish smell is removed as extracts of caviar are used instead of whole roe.
Angelina has also been indulging in 90-minute facials using La Prairie’s caviar-based creams. Jolie became a fan of the facial treatments earlier this year in Venice, after discovering them at the Hotel Cipriani’s Casanova spa centre.
Mick Jagger, Gwyneth Paltrow, Stella McCartney and Kate Moss are also devotees of caviar facials, while Catherine Zeta Jones has been smearing the stuff on her hair to add instant gloss.
Angelina recently revealed her mother’s death triggered her dramatic weight loss. Jolie lost her mother Marcheline Bertrand to ovarian cancer in January – said last week: “I’ve always been lean and this year I lost my mom and I’ve gone through a lot.
“I have four kids and I finished breastfeeding – it’s been hard to get my nutrition back on track.”
To combat the problem, Angelina has started having a special 200-a- The ‘Beowulf’ star is not the only celebrity who has discovered the skin benefits of caviar.
