Jammu, December 2 (Scoop News) – The second meeting of Achabal Development Authority Members held here today, under the chairmanship of Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora, approved annual action plan of Rs one crore for carrying out various tourism development works, besides taking some important decisions for comprehensive and systematic development of tourist spots of Achabal area.
Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Itoo, Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Shopian Abdul Razak Zaura, Commissioner/Secretary Tourism & Culture, Atul Dulu, Special Secretary Tourism, Altaf Hussain, District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Farooq Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer, Achabal Development Authority, Mohammad Shafi and representatives of Finance & Planning Departments were among others who attended the meeting.
The meeting also reviewed the pace of progress on under execution projects and it was informed that 28 works, including construction of view decks, pathways, cafeteria, rain shelter sheds, chain link fencing, development of parks have been taken up in the area at an estimated cost of Rs 8.23 crore and so far Rs 2.43 crore have been expended on these works.
The meeting approved the construction of Rs 2.79 crore budgetary accommodations on the existing land of the authority at Achabal and it was also decided that Master Plan for development authority would be completed on priority. The construction of approach road leading to hutment area came also under discussion.
On the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of Achabal Development Authority gave a power-point presentation of various developmental projects and apprised the meeting that various tourism related works have been completed and due consideration is being given to develop all tourism potential areas of Achabal.
