Jammu, September 13, (Scoop News)- Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) an amalgam of more than 50 social, commercial and other organizations, a united voice and common platform for the development of Jammu Province, convened a meeting under the chairmanship of M.S. Katoch working President to discuss the present scenario of the functioning of State government due to devastation caused by heavy rains and floods.
The meeting resolved that since there is severe problem in Kashmir and it will take enough time to settle down therefore the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah must decide to make civil secretariat functional from Jammu and depute all secretariat employees who are in safe zones and are unaffected to resume duties immediately to make thing running. “We understand that situation is worst in some of the areas but it is also required to set things in motion, how long the Government will remain dysfunctional”, they said.
Katoch further added that a delegation of the Forum is meeting with the authorities as well as nodal agency monitoring relief to know the situation and also to extend its whole hearted support to overcome from this Natural fury.
Katoch said that JPPF appreciates the efforts made by Army to rescue the people from affected areas. He also commended the role of central Government.
The members present in the meeting were Th Narayan Singh, Inderjeet Khajuria, Sardar Gajan singh, M.L. Sharma, Amrit Magotra, Avinash Bhatia, Kamla Sharma, P.S Slathia, Rajiv Mahajan, Jagdish Sharma, Rajesh Wazir, R P Shastri, Pritam Sharma, R L Tandon, Gajan Singh Khalsa and Prof. B L Bhardwaj.
Meanwhile State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan, while expressing shock over the recent natural calamity in Jammu and Kashmir State, asked State Government to start Civil Secretariat at Jammu till the situation arisen in the Kashmir valley will be cleared.
In a statement issued today, Rajiv Mahajan said that all the department and development works are stand still and State Government fail in dealing with the catastrophe as a result of recent unprecedented floods in the State of J&K.
He asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to make Civil Secretariat functional from Jammu and depute employees, who are at safer places, to resume duty to make the departmental works running smoothly.
Chief Minister himself admitted that the situation in Valley is worst and his government not worked properly there, Rajiv said adding that it is right time to make civil secretariat functional in Jammu.
