Jammu, February 28 (Scoop News)- University of Jammu is organizing 3-day International Conference on Global Cultural Routes: Tourism and Socio-Economic Viability, from 1st to 3rd March, 2012 at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Complex,Jammu.
The Governor of J&K State and Chancellor University of Jammu N.N.Vohra will inaugurate the conference on March 1st.
In this connection Public Relations Office, University of Jammu organized a press conference in Jammu. The Press conference was addressed by Prof. Pooman Choudhary Director, Centre for Studies in Museology and Organizing Secretary of the Conference, Prof. G.M.Batt, Controller of Examination and Co-organizing Secretary of the Conference and Dr.D.L.Choudhay, Administrator, Gen. Zorawar Singh Auditorium Complex.
While addressing a Press Confrence,Prof. Poonam Choudhary said that Centre for Studies in Museology ,University of Jammu in association with Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Department of Tourism, Govt. of India, Dept. of Tourism & Culture Govt. of J&K and General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Complex, University of Jammu is organizing 3-day International Conference on Global Cultural Routes, Tourism and Socio-Economic Viability, from 1-3 March, 2012 at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Complex, University of Jammu.
She said the Governor of J&K State and Chancellor University of Jammu.N.N.Vohra will inaugurate the conference on 01-03-2012 at 10:30 am, Minister for Tourism & Culture J&K Govt. Nawang Rigzin Jora will be the guest of honor and Professor M.P.Singh Ishar esteemed Vice Chancellor,University of Jammu will preside over the function.
Prof. Poomam Choudhary, also said that she has taken the initiative to organize this conference by drawing experts from inter disciplinary fields, ranging from architecture, archaeology, cultural heritage, sociology, history of law, tourism management etc. from eight counties who are coming together on a common platform for the exchange of
knowledge, sharing of experience and possible collaboration on related projects. The conference has divided into technical sessions, visit to heritage sites and cultural route.
She further added that the International conference which will be attended by experts in Cultural routes from all over the world which includes Gheorghievici Adda(Romania) Kristy Altenburg(Australia),Ausncion Martinez Valle (Spain),Eman Assi(Dubai) Alicia Leonor Cahn Behrend(Spain),Dr.Timothy Hubbard (Australia),Michael Romero Taylor(USA), Carlos Mesen – Rees(Costa Rica), Prof. Victor Manuel Fernandez Salinas(Spain), Carman Perez Garcia(Spain), Dr. Sandy Blair (Australia),Jyoce Azzam(USA), Juan Rodriguez-Villasante(Spain), Dr. Nguyen Quang Mien(Vietnam),Dr. Nang Chung Trinh(Vietnam),Prof. Rosa Anna Genovese(Portugal).
Prof. G.M.Batt, who is the Co-organizing secretary of the Conference, said that the conferences will contribute to bring together the conclusions of the global strategic study striving to improve the recognition within Heritage "of the economic,
social, symbolic and philosophical dimensions” and constant and countless interactions with the natural environment in all its diversity.
He said this conference will promote tourism (eco- tourism, cultural tourism, pilgrim tourism) in the state which will influence the socio-economic condition of the people living along these routes.
Strengthen the J&K Heritage Conservation and Preservation Act,2010 Bring together the Heritage policy planners to formulate legislations for the protection, promotion of this new cultural property,Mr Bhat said..
